Diet
As passive detritivores, they spend their time peacefully munching on decaying leaves and organic matter, returning essential nutrients back to the soil of their misty home.
Defense
Their bright blue color is a clear warning sign that they are highly toxic. If threatened, they contort their long bodies into a tight, protective spiral and release an irritating chemical liquid to deter predators.
Wave Mechanics
These millipedes have two pairs of legs on almost every body segment. They coordinate these tiny limbs in undulating waves, a sophisticated system that provides continuous traction and power to traverse wet mud and debris.
Navigating the Dark
To adapt to their dark environment, these millipedes completely lack eyes! Instead, they rely on heightened senses to safely feel their way through pitch-black leaf litter and underground caverns.
Field Marks
