KindredTwo very different creatures who share a vocabulary, and are family because of it.

Every dog and every human invent a private language. A word here, a hand signal there, a sound that only means something to the two of you. Kindred is where you keep it. A living word tree that grows from what your dog already knows, with activities that unlock as the words behind them click into place.

What makes it different

A word tree, not a checklist

Words build on each other. Sit unlocks stay. Stay unlocks place. The tree shows what to teach next instead of dumping fifty tricks in a list.

Your words, not ours

Say 'plop your booty' instead of 'sit' if that's what your dog knows. The cue word is yours to choose, because it's your shared language.

48 activities that unlock as you go

Enrichment, nose work, tricks, and everyday manners. Each activity lists the words it needs, and it opens the moment those words are solid.

Real training instructions

Lure, hand signal, and verbal cue for each word, written the way a good trainer would explain it. Common mistakes called out so you don't stall.

Share the tree

Send anyone a picture of everything your dog knows. Useful for a sitter, a trainer, a walker, or anyone who'll be alone with your dog.

No ads, no video courses

Kindred is a companion for your training, not a replacement for it. It keeps track of what stuck so you can focus on the dog in front of you.

Questions

How is Kindred different from other dog training apps?
Most dog training apps are video courses that hand you a curriculum. Kindred starts from what your dog already knows and grows outward, because no two dogs learn the same words in the same order.
What is the word tree?
A living map of every word your dog knows, connected by the order they build on each other. It starts with the foundations and grows as you teach. Watch it go from three words to thirty.
What are activities?
Real things you can do together, built from the words your dog has. Leash Up combines sit, collar grab, and wait. Each activity lists its words, steps, and tips for common mistakes.
Can I use my own cue words?
Yes. Every word in the tree can be renamed to whatever you and your dog actually use. The tree adapts to your language, not the other way around.
Can I add more than one dog?
Yes, with a subscription. Each dog gets their own profile and their own word tree. One might know twenty words while another is learning their name.
Does Kindred teach me how to train?
Each word comes with practice methods, tips, and common mistakes. But Kindred is a companion, not a course. It works best alongside a trainer or a method you already trust.
Is Kindred free?
Yes. The whole word tree, all training instructions, all activities, custom words, and one dog profile are free. A subscription adds multiple dog profiles, custom activities, and color themes for mastered words.
What data does Kindred collect?
Your dog profiles and training progress are stored on our servers so they persist. Kindred does not access your health data, location, camera, or contacts. See our privacy policy for the full picture.
Can I share my dog's word tree?
Yes. Send anyone a picture of everything your dog knows. Handy for a dog sitter, a trainer, or anyone spending time with your dog.
Can I get my data deleted?
Yes. Email support@gnomesteadcollective.com and we'll delete your account and everything associated with it, including dog profiles, training progress, analytics, and attribution records.
Is Kindred on Android?
Yes. Kindred is on both the App Store and Google Play.
